Golden Rings/Mister Death is the debut single of Finchler, the full band project of songwriter and video artist Adam Finchler, joined here by David Greenberg on drums and Julian Cartwright on bass. The single is Adam's first release since his debut solo EP Hair Gimmicks of Apathy (2011), which Razorcake called "laugh-out-loud and introspective." Golden Rings captures the latent horror of living comfortably while Mister Death narrates a quarter-life crisis in real time. The songs show the versatility of a band with diverse influences and an emphasis on lyrical storytelling.
